The Global Debt Dynamics Initiative (GDDI) is led by the Centre for Global Political Economy (CGPE) at the University of Sussex and the Centre for Rising Powers and Global Development (CRPD) at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS). Bringing together experts from different academic disciplines, professional sectors and international organisations, the GDDI aims both to advance the state-of-the-art in global debt analysis and to facilitate the creation of a new open international research network on global debt dynamics, with special attention to the changing nature of vulnerabilities and dependencies between advanced and emerging economies.
The launch of the Global Debt Dynamics (GDD) network took place in the inaugural GDD workshop in Brighton on 26 May 2016. The workshop was endorsed by the International Political Economy working group of the British International Studies Association (BISA).
